PVPL incepted its Indian operations with the launch of Apé in 1999 and in 2013, Autohub Group has opened Autoitalia Philippines Enterprises in the Philippines. Equipped and engineered for higher fuel efficiency, rugged performance and outstanding load carrying capability, Apé was an instant success.
In February 2020, Autoitalia Philippines Enterprises, Inc. and Piaggio Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. Entered into a Technical Licensing Agreement with Piaggio to manufacture and assemble its vehicles not just for the Philippine market, but for export to other ASEAN countries as well. Autoitalia will import CKD kits from Piaggio Vehicles Private Limited (PVPL), Inc. in India, and will assemble them at their assembly plant in Cabuyao, Laguna. The finished three-wheeled vehicles will then be sold not just locally, but to ASEAN countries such as Laos and Cambodia.
