Job Description

Occupational Therapist II

1. Evaluates action for referred patients with physical or mental disability either for home visit, placement, or transfer.

2. Trains the patient in home management skills and other simpler methods of self-care activities such as dressing, easting, bathing and personal hygiene to compensate for physical, sensual and/or perceptual deficits and to manage dysphagia.
3. Administers treatments to patients using applied techniques such as group OT activities to improve joint range of motion (ROM), muscle strength, endurance, and coordination.
4. Administers treatment to patients with the use orthoses or adaptive equipment and fabricates such (i.e. splints) when necessary.
5. Trains patients in the functions use of corrective or replacement devices such as an upper extremity prosthesis.
6. Recommends post-treatment conditions such as modifications to create a barrier-free environment, and consultation to a vocational counselor for employment.
7. Evaluates and transfers the care of regressed patients to nursing affiliates and monitors their condition.
8. Monitors the upkeep and sufficiency of supplies and equipment.
9. Plans and schedules activities for patients referred in the OT Section.
10. Performs other relevant duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

Education:               Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy

Work Experience:    1 year of relevant experience

Trainings:                 4 hours of relevant training

Eligibility:                  RA 1080 (Occupational Therapist)

8. Photocopy of Philhealth Accreditation (if applicable)
