Under general supervision, plans and participates in the therapeutic aspects of food preparation and service; and conducts nutrition and dietary assessment, education and counselling:
1. Supervises the therapeutic aspects of food preparation and servicing of modified diets to patients.
2. Adapts and modifies menus in accordance with patients’ needs for maintenance or improvement of nutritional status.
3. Observes patients’ acceptance of diets, and evaluates food consumed.
4. Consults with physicians concerning dietary prescriptions and implements through meals adapted to the needs of individual patients.
5. Participates in health team rounds, and serves as consultant on nutritional care.
6. Instructs in and out patients regarding diet modifications.
7. Monitors the system for transmission of patient’s diet order and changes, and assists in the establishment of efficient food delivery system to the patients.
8. Maintains high standards of sanitation and safety practices in all areas and units involved in diet therapy.
9. Participates in professional meetings and conferences, and in service education for dietary employees and staff.
10. Conducts and assists in dietary service policy development and research works in dietetic management.
11. Records diet census, and prepares monthly statistical and /financial report.
12. Promotes diet therapy program, and coordinates with other departments regarding other relevant programs.
13. Conducts nutritional assessment and counseling of in and out patients.
14. Prepares diet tags for therapy patients.
15.Perform duties as assigned.
