1. Manages patient care and other nursing activities (e.g. conducting rounds, soliciting patient’s feedback, administering medications and reporting unusual symptom).
2. Monitors and evaluates the performance of staff nurses and non- professional staff in providing patient care and organizes work schedules to maximize development.
3. Orients staff, nursing students, patients and their families in related areas such as philosophy, objective and policies of the policies of the hospital/nursing service and other health information.
4. Monitors the inventory and maintenance of supplies, equipment and facilities to procide appropriate service and a healthy physical environment.
5. Performs administrative duties such as preparing reports and schdule of assignments.
6. Performs direct nursing care procedures, which includes bedside nursing, hygiene, pre and post operative nursing care, as well of admission and discharge duties.
7. Liases between nurses, patients, members of the health team, and oher units to coordinate functions and provide a healthy social environment.
8. Mentors student nurses and monitors their development by preparing programs/assignements with the clinical instructor and evaluating performance.
9. Performs other related functions as may be assigned.
