JOB TITLE: Vice President for Human Resources


Summary of Primary Job Responsibilities:

The Vice President of the Person Office (Human Resources) for The Philippines will lead, direct, oversee, and manage the Person Office practice for the company’s Philippines region. The Philippines territory includes Manila, Cebu, and Dumaguete office. The Company may open other Philippines locations that would also fall into this territory in the future.

This key leader oversees and leads the consultation of people-related business decisions, working closely with the business and operational leaders in order to drive business results, attract, selected, engage, and retain the organization’s talent. This Vice President will set the strategy for the Person Office team and function, as well as for the Corporate (non-agent) Talent Acquisition function, and this role will also execute on that strategy. As a key business partner, this Vice President will work effectively to confront and resolve divergent perspectives, and to facilitate resolution and mediation discussions. This role will co-own the success of each site with the site leadership, and regional operational Site Directors, Vice Presidents, and Managing Directors. This Vice President acts as a SME on all of the Person Office and Corporate TA functions and demonstrates strong expertise in local labor regulations and best practices related to managing 9,000+ employees and growing. This role will lead and cultivate key relationships in various Philippines market, industries, government, and community affairs. This role will lead the implementation of the Philippines PO Operations, ensuring swift and accurate completion of all employee transactions. Finally, this Vice President provides overall leadership, demonstrates the Company’s values, models, and maintains utmost confidentiality, drives for continual improvement and accountability, supports a high-performance culture, and maintains current Human Resources & Talent Acquisition and BPO industry knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:

• Directs, oversees, and manages the Person Office staff and team. Monitors performance in self and team, coaching and mentoring team members to high effectiveness.

• Directs, oversee, and managed the Corporate (non-agent) Talent Acquisition staff, driving high levels of performance.

• Designs, develops, and deploys Philippines best practices for PO Operations, Compliance, and Employee Engagement & Retention.

• Oversees the internal communications team to drive effective Philippines employee communications.

• Oversees that employees are inducted into the organization effectively. Ensures that retention and attendance related processes are being fully utilized to meet business needs.

• Oversees investigations to ensure proper approaches, and the maintenance of confidentiality, while resolving potential issues for the sites.

• Reviews and approves involuntary separations to ensure consistency and compliance to policy and legal requirements.

• Oversees the employee relations activities and works with PO site leaders to coach site management in all areas of associate relations.

• Leads the implementation of Philippines and local HR tools and programs for consistency and efficiencies. Leads change in the sites and manages change effectively on team and with business partners.

• Works with upline and site PO and Corporate TA leaders to train and develop site PO & Corporate TA teams.

• Ensures compliance with company processes and programs, governing laws and regulations, and applicable unions, works councils and CBA requirements to maintain progressive and positive relationships; complies with all regulatory agencies as needed.

• Assesses PO practice and business processes, surfacing recommended changes, enhancements, and improvements.

• Presents to senior leadership on key developments, initiatives, and strategies. Creates presentation decks, delivers, and follows-up from key meetings and summits.

• Coaches and helps to develop all site management and leadership in region. Delivers tough feedback, without creating resentment. Manages complex people issues with sophistication.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s Degree preferred.
• Human Resources credentials such as the CHRM, SHRM, or SPHR/GPHR highly preferred.
• 18 – 20+ years of experience working in Human Resources and Talent Acquisition as a discipline.
• 15+ years of progressive experience as a Human Resources Manager, Director and Senior Director.
• 15+ years of experience as a Person Office leader in the BPO industry.
• 12- 15+ years of experience running a corporate (non-agent) Talent Acquisition practice.
• LinkedIn Recruitment, DDI, and/or other TA certifications highly preferred.
• Proven, demonstrated strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
• Demonstrated business savvy and acumen with ability to develop and maintain long-term success as a business partner with site-level and senior-level management and site HR teams in a fast paced, customer focused environment.
• Proven demonstrated experience in balancing people-facing concerns with the business imperatives, while making sound recommendations and exercising good judgment.
• Proven demonstrated customer-service orientation in which this VP understands their internal business partners are their most important priority in servicing their needs.
• Proven ability to develop and to execute strategic action plans.
• Proven ability to develop strong business relationships and navigate complex political environments and work in matrixed environment.
• Proven ability to influence others at all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt practices and techniques to changing priorities and issues and provide proactive, effective change management and leadership.
• Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills including strong verbal and written communications skills, presentation skills, facilitation skills, and influence and negotiation skills.
• Advanced computer skills with demonstrated ability to use a variety of programs including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook with the ability to assimilate, present, and analyze data as needed.
• Ability to travel, domestically and internationally by various modes of transportation for periods of time as needed to support the business.
