As a civilian or company guard, your primary responsibility is to protect the premises, assets, and individuals that you are assigned to guard. This may include conducting regular patrols, monitoring security cameras, checking identification of individuals entering the premises, and responding to any security incidents or emergencies that arise.
In addition to maintaining a visible presence and deterring criminal activity, you may also be responsible for enforcing company policies and procedures, as well as providing excellent customer service to employees, visitors, and clients.
You must be alert and attentive at all times, capable of thinking quickly and making sound decisions under pressure. Strong communication skills are also essential, as you may need to interact with a wide range of individuals in a professional and courteous manner.
This role may require you to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, so flexibility and reliability are key qualities for success in this position. Training in security protocols and procedures may be provided by the hiring company or organization, but prior experience in security or law enforcement is often preferred.
