Job Description

OFFSHORE WELLS SUBSEA SUPERVISOR

  • Subsea Operations Supervision: Supervise and oversee all subsea operations related to offshore wells, including wellhead installations, subsea tree operations, riserless and riser drilling, and subsea equipment deployment.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of offshore subsea technicians and engineers, ensuring safe and efficient execution of subsea activities according to operational plans.
  • Well Integrity: Ensure the integrity and proper functioning of subsea equipment, including wellheads, Christmas trees, risers, and related systems, and ensure all equipment is maintained and operated to manufacturer specifications.
  • Offshore Equipment Handling: Oversee the safe operation and installation of subsea equipment, ensuring all procedures are followed and all equipment is deployed correctly.
  • Drilling Support: Provide subsea support to the drilling team, ensuring correct well placement, riser alignment, and handling of any subsea-related challenges during drilling operations.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Certificate of completion in high-pressure hydraulics preferred.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills in English and Afrikaans, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Subsea Equipment Expertise: In-depth knowledge with subsea equipment, including wellheads, Christmas trees, riser systems, blowout preventers (BOPs), and other subsea intervention tools.
  • Safety & Compliance: A strong commitment to safety and compliance with offshore safety and environmental regulations, including the ability to lead safety meetings, conduct risk assessments, and ensure adherence to safety standards.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, particularly related to subsea operations, well control, and equipment maintenance.
  • Operational Knowledge: Solid understanding of offshore drilling, well completion, and subsea intervention techniques, including experience with both drilling and well services operations.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing conditions in a high-pressure, offshore environment, with a focus on safety and operational excellence.
