A Service Driver is responsible for the delivery of shipments to customers in good and timely manner that will optimize and improve efficiency and result in outstanding customer service.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Safely transporting cargoes to and from specified locations in a timely manner.
2. Assisting with the loading and offloading of cargoes (refer to the Standard Operating Procedure on Proper Cargo Handling)
Detailed Responsibilities:
1. Report to assigned branch on or before work schedule, Monday to Saturday, 8:30 am-5:30 pm (see Employees' Schedule);
2. Wear proper uniform when reporting for duty and observe proper grooming; (refer to the policy on Uniform and Grooming)
3. After the time in, report to the personnel in charge of breath analyzing. BAC track will be used to determine the BAC (Breath Alcohol Content) of a certain person; (refer to the policy on anti-drunk driving law and use of alcohol breath analyzer)
4. Adjusting travel routes to avoid traffic congestion or road construction;
5. Ensuring that the company vehicle is always parked in areas that permit parking in order to avoid towing;
6. Keeping the company vehicle clean and properly maintained by performing basic regular cleaning and vehicle maintenance;(refer to the policy on releasing of service panel and south road trucks policy)
7. Providing accurate time records of the company vehicle’s departure and arrival (see Vehicle Daily Trip Report or Delivery Pick-up and Collection Manifest);
8. Reporting any accidents, injuries, and vehicle damage to Branch Managers and Motorpool Department; (refer to the vehicular accident do’s and don’ts guidelines)
9. Loading, transporting, and delivering items to clients or businesses in a safe, timely manner; (refer to guidelines on proper cargo handling)
10. Reviewing cargoes before and after delivery to ensure that shipments are complete and in good condition, the charges are correct, and the customer is satisfied (refer to the standard Operating Procedures in Cargo Acceptance: Releasing of Cargoes from Consignee branch to Delivery Personnel/Service Driver)
11. Assisting with loading and unloading items from vehicles; (refer to guidelines on proper cargo handling)
12. Accepting payments for delivered items (refer to the standard Operating Procedures in Cargo Acceptance: Releasing of Cargoes From Delivery Personnel/Service Driver to Customer);
13. Abiding by all traffic laws and maintaining a safe driving record;
14. Preparing reports and other documents relating to deliveries (see Vehicle Daily Trip Report or Delivery Pick-up and Collection Manifest);
15. Performs vehicle inspection before and after each trip (refer to the policy on releasing of service panel and south road trucks policy)
16. Check and ensure waybills and shipments listed on the Delivery, Pick up and Collection Manifest are loaded and delivered promptly.
17. Collect payments as needed (refer to the standard Operating Procedures in Cargo Acceptance: Releasing of Cargoes From Delivery Personnel/Service Driver to Customer);
18. Turn over all waybills, documents and collections to branch in charge immediately after delivery.
19. Check the folder containing all the documents pertaining to the registration of the truck including but not limited to; Official receipt and certificate of registration (OR/CR) and Provisional Authority or extension of PA.
20. Checking of shipments and documents received from branches (refer to the standard Operating Procedures in Cargo Acceptance: Releasing of Cargoes From Southroad Drivers to Consignee Branch);
21. The service driver shall prepare and submit Vehicle Trip Ticket using a company-prescribed form in duplicate copies (see Vehicle Daily Trip Report or Delivery Pick-up and Collection Manifest);.
22. Respond to emergencies and accidents (refer to the standard Operating Procedures in Vehicular Accident);
23. Performs basic troubleshooting in case of mechanical problems (refer to the policy on releasing of service panel and south road trucks);
24. Prepare and submit a job order to Motorpool in charge of any needed repairs or special maintenance; (refer to the policy on job order guidelines);
25. Other duties that may be assigned from time to time (see Schedule and Task)
