DIRECTOR OF TRAINING FOR HOTEL AND F&B
The Director of Training for Hotel and F&B is responsible for the following:
1. Conceptualize, develop and introduce, on board all Princess cruise ships, the required and correct implementation shipboard training for of the “OceanMedallion" cruise technology (a guest’s hardware application and wearable device developed by Carnival Corporation & pic, a British and American cruise operator, specifically for Princess cruise ships in 2019), to enable the Filipino Crew Members trained in the Philippines to deal and interact with the passengers more efficiently and to offer a better personalized service to their passengers.
2. The Director of Training for Hotel and F&B will particularly be assigned to the implementation of OceanMedallion on Princess ships that will be and Germany, sailing in international waters such as UK, French Caribbean, South America, Brazil, Portugal, Spain, Italy, and Germany.
3. Ensure that the final onboard training will consider all different onboard operational objectives, focusing on the specific departmental targets to create precise training manuals improving Crew members skills and behaviors while using the application:
o Revenue generation and speed of service for the Bar division
o Room upkeeping and prompt technical support for the HK division
o Friendly and efficient problem solving for Guest Services
o Prompt service times at all Dining Room food outlets
4. Review and update all current Princess Cruises LTD onboard training manuals , SOPs, and policies related to Hotel (HK and Guest Service) F&B (Culinary, Dining Room, Bar, Room service), Sanitation manuals, Revenue Partners (as per those present on each ship) to adapt the new materials to the precise operational standards of each department, by aligning unique Princess SOPs to other Carnival Group brands, to their specific brand positioning, marketing, and correspondent operational characterization.
5. Conduct Individual Train-the-Trainer sessions with Filipino instructors in the Philippines, ensuring the proper know-how will be passed on to the instructors who will be teaching the Crew prior to their deployment.
6. Implement and convey newly developed courses and revised operational trainings onboard any Princess cruise ships sailing in US waters, on short notice, while in possession of a valid US A1/D1 visa.
7. Implement and convey newly developed courses and revised operational trainings, on short notice, on Princess ships sailing in international waters and preferably on certain preferred markets as required by the brand: UK, French Caribbean, South America, Brazil, Portugal, Spain, Italy and Germany, while being able to communicate and translate any of the manuals to those languages, when required.
8. Revise, update, or rewrite the Onboard SOPs for the following positions: Hotel Director, Associate Hotel Director, F&B Director, F&B Manager, Asst. F&B Manager, Onboard Revenue Director, Guest Service Manager.
9. Revise, update, and teach the Vessel Sanitation Program (VSP 2018) manual as per the Centre of Disease Control (CDC Atlanta) to all onboard positions and Filipino instructors in the Philippines, related to any operational department requirement within Hotel and F&B operations.
10. Conduct practical sanitation inspections and training onboard the vessels, being fully familiar with the electronic, mechanical or digital tools required to complete the assigned tasks: laser thermometers, photometers, hygrometers.
11. Be fully competent with different cleaning solutions related to the Sanitation program, from both Ecolab or Diversey brands, and be capable of recognizing and mixing different chemical solutions required to comply with the cleaning protocols.
12. Perform such other functions and duties as may be required by MAGSAYSAY, always related to cruise operations, hospitality business, recruitment, and training matters as instructed and throughout the different geographical areas of interest.
