Duties and Responsibilities of a Japanese Language TeacherPosition Title: Japanese Language Teacher
Reporting To: Principal / Academic Head / Program Director
Schedule: As per assigned class hours and school calendar
Location: Bolton st. Davao City
Teaching Responsibilities:
1. Conduct Japanese Language Classes (N5 to N4 levels or higher as needed) using approved curriculum and lesson plans.
2. Develop Lesson Materials tailored to student needs, ensuring alignment with the JLPT standards or institutional requirements.
3. Use a variety of teaching methods such as interactive activities, role-playing, visual aids, and digital tools to enhance learning.
4. Monitor and assess student progress through regular quizzes, written/oral exams, and performance evaluations.
5. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and classroom activities.
6. Provide regular feedback and support to students for language improvement, including pronunciation, grammar, writing, and listening skills.
Classroom Management and Environment:
1. Maintain discipline, a positive classroom atmosphere, and cultural respect among students.
2. Ensure all students are engaged and motivated in their learning journey.
3. Communicate clearly and effectively in both Japanese and, when necessary, English or Filipino to facilitate understanding.
Administrative & Institutional Duties:
1. Participate in faculty meetings, training, seminars, or workshops as required by the institution.
2. Assist in the preparation and improvement of Japanese language curriculum and materials.
3. Support the school’s marketing team during orientations, student inquiries, or promotional activities.
4. Submit timely reports on student performance and course status to the Registrar or Academic Head.
5. Help in the assessment and screening of applicants for student visa or work programs in Japan if necessary.
Cultural and Professional Development:
1. Educate students on basic Japanese culture, traditions, and work ethics for future integration.
2. Stay updated with the latest JLPT changes, teaching methods, and educational tools.
3. Promote cross-cultural understanding and respect between the Philippines and Japan.
