Assistant Technical Superintendent
Provides support to the Technical Superintendent in maintaining and operating vessels efficiently and safely. Assists with planning repairs, troubleshooting technical issues—particularly with machinery and engines—and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Prepares reports, coordinates with suppliers, trains crew, and contributes to cost-effective and optimized vessel performance.
- Maintenance Coordination: Assist in planning and executing maintenance, repairs, and dry-docking schedules for vessels to ensure optimal performance and regulatory compliance.
- Technical Expertise: Apply in-depth knowledge of machines and engines to support troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance efforts.
- Inspection & Compliance: Conduct regular inspections of vessel machinery and engines, ensuring adherence to industry standards, safety protocols, and environmental regulations.
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on vessel performance, machinery and engine status, maintenance schedules, and technical incidents.
- Supplier Coordination: Assist in sourcing spare parts, equipment, and technical services, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
- Crew Support: Provide training and guidance to crew members on the operation and maintenance of vessel machinery and engines
- Emergency Response: Collaborate in addressing technical emergencies or breakdowns involving machinery and engines, minimizing operational disruptions.
- Budget Monitoring: Support in managing budgets related to vessel operations, machinery and engine repairs, and maintenance.
- Innovation & Optimization: Identify opportunities for enhancing the efficiency and reliability of vessel machinery and engine operations through technological advancements or improved practices.
