The Tax Officer is responsible for overseeing tax related functions within the company. Its primary responsibilities involve the filing compliance, planning and supervision of staff. This role ensures that the company adheres to the latest tax regulations set by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) in the Philippines and maintains accurate and timely tax.
Key Responsibilities:
· Tax Compliance
Ensure compliance with the laws and regulations including preparations and filing of various tax returns accurately and timely.
Oversee and manage tax compliance at project sites ensuring that the related activities at various project locations, adhere to local and national tax laws and regulations.
· Tax Audits
Facilitates audit process including providing requested documentation, addressing inquiries and represents the company’s tax position.
· Tax Planning
Develop tax efficient strategies for the company, including identifying tax savings opportunities to minimize tax liabilities and managing depreciation schedule for construction equipment to maximize tax benefits.
· Updates on Tax Law and Regulations
Stay updated about changes in tax laws and BIR regulations, adapting strategies and compliance procedures accordingly.
· Documentation and Record Keeping
Maintain complete meticulous and accurate records of financial reconciliation and tax related documents for tax compliance and facilitate any future audit or inquiries from BIR.
· Team Supervision
Manage and lead tax personnel within the organization including delegating tasks, providing guidance and conducting performance evaluation.
