Job Description

System Administrator

JOB SUMMARY

The System Administrator will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of computer systems, servers, networks, and related infrastructure. They will ensure the smooth operation and security of the Philippine Business for Social Progress technology infrastructure.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, server hardware, network devices, and other infrastructure components.

2. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the overall stability and reliability of the systems.

3. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights to systems and network resources.

4. Implement and maintain security measures, including firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.

5. Perform regular data backups and develop disaster recovery plans to minimize the risk of data loss.

6. Collaborate with the IT team to evaluate and implement new technologies, software, and hardware solutions to improve system efficiency and performance.

7. Conduct regular system audits to identify vulnerabilities and proactively address security risks.

8. Respond to and resolve user inquiries, provide technical support, and assist with troubleshooting hardware and software issues.

9. Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides to maintain an up-to-date knowledge base.

10.Collaborate with vendors and service providers to ensure timely resolution of technical issues and efficient procurement of IT equipment.

11. Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in system administration.

12.Performs other tasks that may be assigned from time to time by the immediate supervisor and/or management.


Qualifications/Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or relevant field. Additional certification in Microsoft, Cisco, or similar technologies is a plus.

Experience: At least 2 years of working experience as a Technical Support Lead or similar role

Other / Special Skills: Ability to provide step-by-step technical help, both written and verbal Strong knowledge and ability to troubleshoot complicated issues in distributed technical environment. Deep understanding of performance issues related to processor, IO, Memory, network, LAN, WAN, Optimization, latency, and monitoring and network tools. Expert knowledge in several of the following is required: Windows Server, Directory, DNS, WNS, DHCP, LDAP, Lenovo and IBM Servers, Remote Console Management, Monitoring Tools, Endpoint Protection (Malwarebytes) Patch Management, Server Imaging, Firewall (FortiGate), and Cisco Devices
