  • An entry-level management role focused on overseeing the IT support team. IT Support Managers ensure that all technical support activities run smoothly and efficiently, addressing the immediate technological needs of the organization.
  • Responsible for planning, executing, and finalizing IT projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. IT Project Managers coordinate the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan.
  • Developing and enforcing IT policies, procedures, and best practices for security, data management, and system usage. 
  • Diagnosing and resolving technical problems with hardware, software, networks, and systems. 

Qualifications/Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is typically required. Some organizations may prefer a master's degree. 
  • Several years of experience in IT, including experience managing teams and projects, is usually needed. 
  • Expertise in decision-making, coordinating complex initiatives, and managing multiple projects simultaneously is essential. 
  • The ability to address technical challenges, manage system updates, and troubleshoot issues is vital.
