DEMAND AND SUPPLY PLANNING HEAD
Main Purpose of the Job
Lead, develop and align the Demand and Supply Planning team, at NiM level, in the effective application of Best Practice and efficient processes, as well as in the efficient use of tools,to ensure that finished goods (both domestically produced and supplied via IMS) are available, meet Customer demand, at the right stock location and with high Freshness, whilstminimizing Cost.
Guardian of the DSP process in the market (at NiM level) and ensure alignments across categories in the market with the support of the BE DSP manager, if any.
Contribute to Strategic (3 years +) and Tactical (18-20 months) Business Planning via Monthly Business Planning and the Dynamic Planning Framework.
Share experience and contribute to increase knowledge & capabilities in own area of expertise, within the Zone and Group.
Key Outputs / Deliverables
• Ensure continuing alignment with Business priorities, initiatives and activities, and the delivery of performance to agreed KPI levels
• Contribute to business success by ensuring stock availability in order to meet the Customer Service target at optimum costs
• Ensure that the DSP team is aligned with Category/Region/Zone/Corporate priorities and objectives (for all categories under NiM scope)
• Identify gaps for medium and long term horizons and put in place pro-active actions to bridge these gaps.
• Manage and maintain, together with the Category DSP Managers, a skilled and motivated team of Demand and Supply planners (including IMS planners and Event Managers/Subject matter Experts when relevant) to continuously improve the quality of the Demand and Supply Plans and the efficiency with which they are produced.
• Work closely with the BE DSP manager (if any) for development and coaching of team members: Develop and sustain a relevant capability building framework, secure resources and accurate onboarding of new employees.
• Leverage system capabilities and identify new ways of working making demand and supply planning more efficient
• Increased "speed to market" through effective coordination of Innovation and Renovation process and execution (e.g. New Product Launch)
• Manage the relationship with Inter-Market partners (Producers and Receivers) to ensure efficient and cost-effective IMS replenishment and deliver and IMS performance as good as the domestic one.
• Support NCE/LEAN and/or drive any other continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring that a continuous improvement culture is developed and sustained.

• Ensure proper cascading of KPI’s to drive ownership and alignment across the organization
• Directly responsible for: Stock availability; Stock covers in days and value (finished goods, raw & pack and WIP inventory); Freshness of inventory & shipment; Demand Planning Accuracy & Bias and Customer Service Level (COF & OTIF). All measures and KPIs are applicable for both Domestic and IMS supply.
• Contributes to: Achievement of RIG & Organic Growth, Bad Goods and "at risk" goods and SKU Optimization.
• Training and succession Plans are in place, PDP process is effective, Super Users & Experts are identified and recognised.
• Assessment of maturity level in best practices & tools is performed regularly (e.g. skills matrix).
• Relevant information analyzed and communicated to Senior Management by: Sharing KPIs; performance gaps highlighted; detailed information on the impact of proposed actions and trade-offs available; proposed actions are realistic and achievable.
• Robust and effective CDP, AVC, ACE and MBP processes and execution
• COF/OTIF, On Shelf Availability
• Launch On Time/In Full, KPIs related to I2L and non-I2L projects
• Responsible for providing the demand plan to producing markets on time and over the right horizon
• Directly (PR) or indirectly (RC) responsible for:- Dispatch Plan Attainment- IMS Stock service level- Freshness of shipment and inventory
• Contribute to IMS product briefs and IMS complaints handling processes, including the continuous improvement process
Critical Experiences
What experiences are key to success in this job?
• Operational and/or Project Management experience in DSP
• Leadership role in one of the functions across Generating Demand or other Ensuring Supply areas of: Sales / Marketing; Technical & Production; Customer Service; Demand & Supply Planning; Supply Chain Development; Procurement
• Desirable to have had worked on a leadership position in a LEAN organization, who has adapted LEAN concepts and tools as part of their way of working and/or have had experience implementing LEAN concepts and tools.
• Desirable to have had experience in Demand Planning and statistical forecasting techniques and/or Supply Planning and optimization techniques
• Advanced training/coaching skills
