  • Review geotechnical investigation reports and design drawings to understand ground conditions and proposed instrumentation locations.
  • Design and analyze structural components associated with geotechnical instrumentation, such as instrument housings, access structures, and support systems.
  • Perform structural calculations and analyses to ensure the stability and safety of instrumentation installations under various loading conditions, including anticipated ground movements.
  • Prepare detailed design drawings and specifications for structural elements related to instrumentation.
  • Review and approve shop drawings and fabrication details for structural components.
  • Conduct site visits to inspect the installation of instrumentation and associated structures, ensuring compliance with design specifications.
  • Collaborate with geotechnical engineers and other disciplines to integrate structural design considerations into the overall project design.
  • Prepare technical reports and calculations documenting structural design and analysis.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a structural engineering emphasis, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in structural engineering design, with experience in geotechnical or foundation engineering preferred.
  • Strong understanding of structural analysis principles and methods.
  • Proficiency in using structural analysis software.
  • Experience with the design of various structural elements, including foundations, retaining walls, and access structures.
