JOB SUMMARY / PURPOSE
The RN provides clinical leadership to the neighborhoods ensuring the mission, vision, and values of the organization are
supported through the clinical services of the neighborhoods. The RN participates in planning, organizing, directing and
facilitating the clinical operations of the household to ensure regulatory compliance, nurture a person-centered and
resident directed culture, and promote individual and team learning in the household. The RN provides each resident
with professional licensed nursing assessments and evaluations and coordinates their care with other nursing staff in the
household.
ESSENTIAL KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides leadership to clinical staff from all households on specific areas of clinical accountability, specific
accountability may include infection control, safety, wound management, RAI process or other areas determined
by the director of nursing.
Guides the implementation of clinical policies and procedures which ensure safe, sanitary, and efficient practices
supporting professional nursing care standard; assures that documentation, medication administration, resident
nursing care, safety and sanitation, personal and staff development, RAI process and MDS assessments as
assigned, quality care, resident rights are in compliance with facility/government standards.
Guides all household clinical staff to support organizational fiscal viability through efficient and effective use of
all resources in the household, including maintaining clinical staffing, maintaining staffing patterns consistent
with the philosophy, objectives, and availability of resources.
Fosters collaboration, consensus, and negotiation to address problem solving in the household, assures that all
clinical policies and procedures of the household are maintained, interprets and communicates same to all in the
household as needed, with emphasis on resident and/or resident representative.
Maintains a professional, working relationship with physicians and other medical professionals, other
departments within LifeCare, and other retail providers.
Dementia Sensitivity: able to demonstrate and nurture care practices for persons with dementia that meet needs
while promoting individualized person-center care and sense of well-being.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education and Experience
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Must meet regulatory
requirements for licensure as registered nurse in the state of
Minnesota. Three to five years on the job experience as a nurse in
skilled nursing facility is preferred.
Required Licensure and Certifications Certification in CPR is required, specialized training or experience in
geriatric nursing is preferred.
