Job Description

  • Schedules jobs based on job priority, resource availability, loading schedule and production/ shipping backlogs.
  • Monitors daily the shipment status reports and initiates action to meet targets.
  • Confirms with sub-contractors receiving of materials and document.
  • Report to the immediate head the schedule delays, issues on resources, backlogs and progress.
  • Coordinates with Shipping Coordinators and QC department for third party inspections and organizes delivery.
  • Maintains staffing levels based on company standards.
  • Identifies training needs and arranges staff training in achieving company's strategic plan.
  • Maintains good relationships with internal functional groups.
  • Reviews daily production reports to know the causes for any deviation.
  • Initiates necessary actions to meet production and shipping targets.
  • Coordinates with the shop for any discrepancies in the shipping projects.
  • Ensures proper communication with superiors.
  • Ensures availability of the materials / trucks / containers.
  • Ensures timely shipment of the materials as per schedule.
  • Plans the packing of finished materials based on loading schedule and ensures quality packing to avoid any damages or losses of materials during transport.
  • Ensures that trucks and containers are booked and allocated for loading as per schedule.
  • Optimizes the loads per truck to avoid added shipment costs.
  • Reduces in-process scrap generation to achieve the acceptable target as per the KPI's.
  • Provides guidance/ assistance to subordinates to achieve KRA/ KPI targets.
  • Promotes cooperation and team work and to lead by example.
  • Suggests and encourages subordinates to give kaizen and other productivity improvements in their work areas.
  • Follows up with Maintenance Department for the vehicle or equipment breakdowns.
  • Coordinates with Maintenance Department to take corrective actions for machines with high downtime.
  • Arranges to impart training to operators, if required.
  • Conducts regular communication meetings with staff to inform them of quality performance results and trends and to improve their decision making skills.
  • Recommends better tools, equipment and consumables to improve the fabrication quality of the jobs as necessary.
  • Performs 5S and enforces housekeeping activities to its subordinates in its work areas. Assigned cleaners whenever necessary.
  • Sees to it that subordinates clean the area of work at the end of the shift.
  • Ensures that all storages are organized; and tools and supplies are conveniently located.
  • Establish cleaning checklists, 5S points for the working area.
  • Be updated on the Company Policies and Procedures on Safety and Health.
  • Explains safe working practices and conducts weekly safety meetings.
  • Reviews natures of accidents and employee accident history and initiatives for preventive actions.
  • Reports to the immediate head any accident report for investigation and corrective solution.
  • Strictly enforces compulsory usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, face masks and the like in the shop floor.

Qualifications/Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering Graduate�
  • Certificate in Logistics Management/Heavy Lifting Technology/ License to drive Heavy Equipment
SKILLS:
  • In-depth understanding of Heavy Lifting & Logistics Management
  • Proficiency in using MS Office, ERP and e-mail
  • Results- and details-oriented; Ability to work quickly and methodically
  • Team player, High degree of flexibility
  • Ability to concentrate while doing repetitive tasks
  • Basic Supervisory Skills
  • Awareness on Health & Safety Environment (HSE) Practices, ISO 9001, 14001 & 18001
  • Good Documentation and Records Management skills
  • In-depth understanding of Engineering Drawings
YEARS OF EXPERTISE:
  • Minimum of 15 years working experience as Supervisor in Heavy Equipment Lifting, Moving and Site erection in any manufacturing company or Heavy Lifting /Haulage Company preferably Heavy Process Equipment Manufacturing Companies�
