POSITION TITLE: SENIOR MANAGER OF RESEARCH AND COMPLIANCE DEPARTMENT
Role Description:
The Senior Manager, Research and Reporting is a pivotal leadership role responsible for strategically directing both regulatory research and compliance reporting functions. This position demands a highly organized and proactive individual capable of leading teams that ensure the learning programs are developed and maintained in accordance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and best practices. The Senior Manager will oversee the processes for achieving and maintaining accreditations across various jurisdictions, proactively monitoring regulatory changes to ensure program relevance and compliance. Furthermore, this role is accountable for the accurate, timely, and efficient submission of compliance reports, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies.
The Senior Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of robust research methodologies, ensuring the research team effectively tracks, interprets, and applies regulatory changes to course content. They are responsible for cultivating strong relationships with regulators at state and national levels, building a comprehensive knowledge base of regulatory requirements. This role also involves optimizing reporting processes, ensuring data accuracy, and facilitating effective communication across departments to address reporting challenges and drive continuous improvement. A key aspect of this position is the leadership and development of both the research and reporting teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance.
Key Job Functions and Responsibilities:
•Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to both the regulatory research and compliance reporting teams, aligning their activities with the company's commercial goals and product roadmap.
•Regulatory Expertise: Maintain a deep understanding of relevant laws, rules, regulations, and best practices impacting the learning programs. Proactively identify and analyze regulatory changes and their implications.
•Stakeholder Liaison: Serve as a primary point of contact for regulatory bodies, instructors of record, vendors, and external contractors, building and maintaining strong, productive relationships.
•Research Management: Lead the regulatory research team in conducting thorough and ongoing research on laws, rules, and changes affecting the business. Implement strategies to automate research processes and effectively document and utilize research data.
•Compliance Reporting Oversight: Ensure accurate and timely preparation and submission of all required compliance reports. Develop and maintain reporting standards, SOPs, and process flows for efficient reporting.
•Team Leadership and Development: Recruit, train, mentor, and manage the performance of both the research and reporting teams. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting continuous professional development.
•Interdepartmental Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with Product Development, Compliance, Customer Support, Technology, and Data teams to ensure alignment and resolve any issues related to research and reporting.
•Documentation and Knowledge Management: Establish and maintain precise and accurate documentation management systems for all regulatory filings, approvals, and related communications. Develop and maintain a knowledge base of regulatory requirements.
•Process Improvement: Continuously identify areas for process improvement in both research and reporting functions, working with relevant teams to implement efficient and effective solutions.
•Audit Support: Support the compliance team during regulatory audits by providing necessary documentation and insights.
•Financial Oversight (Instructor Contracts): Oversee the research and contracting process for instructors, ensuring timely payments in coordination with the accounts team and maintaining positive contractor relationships.
•Performance Analysis and Training: Analyze team performance metrics and identify training needs to enhance individual and team effectiveness in both research and reporting tasks.
•Risk Management: Proactively identify potential regulatory risks and work with relevant teams to develop and implement mitigation strategies.
