As a Safety Supervisor, your primary responsibility is to oversee and enforce safety protocols and procedures in the workplace. You will work closely with management and employees to promote a culture of safety, conduct regular inspections, and ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
1. Safety Inspections and Audits:
-Conduct regular inspections of the workplace to identify hazards and potential risks.
-Audit safety procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
-Report findings and make recommendations for improvements.
2. Training and Education:
-Develop and conduct safety training programs for employees, including new hire orientation and ongoing safety training sessions.
-Ensure all employees are aware of safety policies and procedures.
-Provide training on emergency response procedures and first aid.
3. Incident Investigation:
-Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine causes and implement corrective actions.
-Maintain records of incidents and prepare reports for management and regulatory agencies as required.
4. Safety Policies and Procedures:
-Develop, implement, and update safety policies and procedures based on regulator requirements and industry best practices.
-Ensure all policies are communicated effectively to employees and contractors.
5. Emergency Preparedness:
-Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.
-Conduct drills and exercises to test emergency preparedness and response capabilities.
6. Safety Committee Participation:
-Serve as a member of the safety committee or lead safety meetings.
-Collaborate with management and employees to address safety concerns and promote safety initiatives.
7. Safety Culture Promotion:
-Promote a positive safety culture throughout the organization.
-Encourage employee participation in safety initiatives and recognition of safe behaviors.
8. Documentation and Reporting:
-Maintain accurate records related to safety inspections, training sessions, incidents, and corrective actions.
-Prepare reports and presentations for management and regulatory agencies.
