PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
  • The Rigger shall carry out all tasks issued by the Rigger Supervisor - Site Services in an efficient and safety conscious manner, paying attention to quality of workmanship and value adding time management at all times.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Riggers are responsible for lifting, moving and positioning machinery, equipment, structural parts, and other heavy loads aboard ship and in the shops.
  • Shipboard rigging to include removal of the machinery and equipment on and off the ship and through narrow openings utilizing jacks, chain blocks, Lever blocks and rollers.
  • Riggers are also responsible for selecting rigging gear based on weight and distribution of load, availability of hoisting machinery, and the presence of obstacles and challenges.
  • Signal workers operating cranes or other equipment to move load or lifting loads.
  • Inspect work and ensure work meets the standard specified in the drawing.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Knowledge of different type of rigging gears their specific uses and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety policies and procedures, strategies to promote effective safety operations for the protection of people, property, and product.
  • Have at least 3 years Rigging experience or equivalent
  • Graduate of any technical courses
  • National Competency in rigging NC1
