Job Description

Regional Sales Director Holds a pivotal leadership role within a company, responsible for driving revenue growth, developing strategic sales initiatives, and overseeing the entire retail sales division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing Sales Strategies: Crafting and implementing comprehensive short-term and long-term sales strategies, plans, and programs to achieve revenue and profit targets. This involves analyzing market trends, competitive landscapes, and consumer behavior to identify opportunities and adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Setting Sales Goals: Establishing realistic and ambitious sales targets for regions, territories, and individual stores, aligning them with overall company objectives.
  • Forecasting and Budgeting: Developing accurate sales forecasts and managing budgets effectively, allocating resources for staffing, marketing, and operational expenses.
  • Building and Mentoring a Sales Team: Recruiting, training, developing, and motivating a high-performing retail sales team, including store managers and sales associates. This involves providing coaching, setting performance objectives, and fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
  • Performance Monitoring and Evaluation: Regularly monitoring sales performance, analyzing key metrics, and providing constructive feedback to team members to ensure targets are met and areas for improvement are addressed.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Ensuring consistent and effective communication within the sales team and collaborating with other departments (e.g., marketing, operations, finance, IT, product development) to align initiatives and achieve company goals.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or any related field.
  • Master's Degree/MB (Preferred):
  • Omnichannel Strategy: Developing and executing a unified sales strategy that seamlessly integrates retail stores, e-commerce, and potentially wholesale/B2B channels. This includes ensuring consistent brand messaging, pricing, and customer experience across all touchpoints.
  • Market Penetration: Identifying and analyzing new markets, channels, and distribution opportunities to expand the company's reach and market share. This might involve exploring new retail partners, developing direct-to-consumer strategies, or optimizing existing distribution networks.
  • Channel Optimization: Continuously evaluating the performance of each sales channel (retail, online, wholesale) and adjusting strategies to maximize profitability and efficiency. This could involve rationalizing underperforming stores, investing in e-commerce, or streamlining distribution routes.
  • Competitive Analysis: Keeping a keen eye on competitors across both retail and distribution, understanding their strategies, pricing, and market share, and adapting the company's approach accordingly.
  • An advanced degree in business, marketing, or a related field can be a significant advantage, providing a deeper understanding of business strategy and leadership.
  • Progressive Sales Experience: 10+ years of progressive sales experience, with at least 5 – 7 years in a leadership or management role (e.g., Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager).
  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth in a competitive environment.
  • Retail Experience (Preferred): A deep understanding of market dynamics and customer needs
  • Overseeing Store Operations: Managing day-to-day store operations to ensure efficiency, productivity, and a high standard of customer service. This includes optimizing store layouts, merchandising, and inventory management.
  • Enhancing Customer Satisfaction: Developing and implementing strategies to continuously improve the customer experience, address feedback, and build strong, lasting customer relationships.
  • Inventory Management: Ensuring proper inventory and stock management, including forecasting, replenishment, and merchandising, to ensure products are available for customers and minimize shrinkage.
