  • Bridge watch keeping
  • Assist the Chief Officer Safety in all safety matters and maintenance of lifesaving and fire fighting equipment as required by the Officer
  • Assist the Security Officer in all security matters as required by the Security Officer
  • Check and maintain the life saving, fire fighting, and fire detecting equipment and always reports any discrepancies or possible faults to the Chief Officer Safety
  • See that the gangways remain firmly secured to the ship and safe at all times and has the authority to stop anyone from passing the gangway if it is determined unsafe

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Deck Watchkeeping Certificate required; proficiency in steering
  • Six months to one year experience as Quartermaster cruise or passenger vessel preferred
  • One to two years experience as Able Body Seaman considered
  • Prefer Bridge Watch Standing experience
  • Good communication skills
  • Flexible in day-to-day activities
