Psychologist II is responsible for the following:
1. Conducts interview to patients to determine emotional and mental state of the person and identifies psychological, emotional, or behavioral issues and diagnose disorders, using information obtained from interviews, tests, records, or reference materials.
2. Uses a variety of treatment methods, such as psychotherapy, hypnosis, behavior modification, stress reduction therapy, psychodrama or play therapy.
3. Counsel’s individuals and groups regarding problems, such as stress, substance abuse, or family situations, to modify behavior or to improve personal, social, or vocational adjustment.
4. Discusses the treatment of problems with patients and family/relative.
5. Prepares and submits monthly/quarterly Women and Child Protection Unit (WCPU) statistical reports.
6. Attends to Women and Child Protection Unit (WCPU) clients/patients, hospital wards and psychological referrals and issues/releases medical certificates.
7. Appears before any judicial body as an expert witness during court hearings.
8. Performs other duties as may be assigned.
