Job Description

Production Manager

1.0 GENERAL:

  • Responsible to the President and General Manager for the organization, management and operation of the Ship Repair Production Department as well as continuous evaluation and development of each production sections and personnel.
  • Responsible for maximizing the output product of ship repair processes, eliminating wastes, reducing the process time and maintaining production machines and facilities.

2.0 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The efficient organization and operation of the Production Department in accordance with the Subic Drydock Corporation-Quality Management System, local and national government regulations and industrial standards.
  • Ensuring that the output products of ship repair processes are produced according to the production procedure and in the most economical manner.
  • Promote positive attitude among production personnel towards the production of high-quality products and excellent services.
  • Initiate and leads the production meeting to discuss manpower distribution, work specification, work order, incidental works, productivity, performance and other production related matters.
  • Assures continuity of operations and maintain the process capability of all sections thru constant review and assessment of the outputs in relation to the needs sought by top management and customers, in terms of safety, quality, delivery and cost requirements.
  • Ensures through the support departments that maximum productivity of ship repair is attained without sacrificing safety & quality and top management is well informed on the overall production performance.
  • Ensuring that all production personnel are aware of the safety, health and environmental protection at all times.
  • Taking appropriate actions in the event of non-conformance and think of possible measures to improve the process and prevent the recurrence of such problem.
  • The establishment of good relationship amongst Production personnel in order for them to work with unity and cooperation.
  • Controlling all production records and the production information’s required for traceability system.
  • Plans and review the structure of Production department through proper selection, training and motivation of production staff to assure good productivity and excellent performance.
  • Responsible for an on-going training program and appraisal of all production personnel to be sure that they are trained to a high level of competence.
  • Review performance standards and develop the operating parameters and standards of the profit plan. See to it that appropriate formal programs of profit improvement for production, quality standards and safety are instituted and strictly followed.
  • Prepare yearly budget and review production expenditures, requests and appropriations as needed.
  • Recommend specific acquisitions that will enhance the development or the profitability of various departments and sections.
  • Recommends the appointment, promotion and retirement for cause of production personnel.

Qualifications/Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering courses.

Experience:

  • At least 5-10 years related experience as project superintendent in a shipyard industry.

Others:

  • Good communication and personal relation skills
  • Computer literate.
