Job Description

Senior Procurement Specialist

Reporting to the Procurement Team Lead.

Procurement Associates support the shared services center in the day-to-day Purchase-to-Pay process for indirect spending within a specific category or regional area. They ensure that there is full compliance on procurement activities as guided by the company’s Code of Ethics, Procurement policies, and procedures.

Support the company’s entities in their Purchase-to-Pay Process through:

• Purchase Requisition validation, compliance checking

• Purchase order creation, releasing and monitoring

• Performing Purchase Order changes/modifications

• Responding to inquiries of internal customers and suppliers regarding purchase order status, changes, or cancellations, and other procurement-related concerns

• Following-up/expediting deliveries of purchased items, samples required to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries, and other supply problems

• Creating and maintaining process documentation for the P2P process

• Implementing process optimization to increase working efficiency

• Performing other procurement ad hoc tasks that may be assigned from time to time

Strategic Impact

• Ensure timely processing of Purchasing transactions in accordance to the set service level agreement

• Practice excellent communication skills, apply effective verbal & written communication in English and local language.

• Demonstrate good prioritization skills; doing what matters most first with sound planning and time management skills.

• Shows good customer orientation and observe good understanding of the work in order to satisfy the requirements of the customer

• Strong determination and self-motivation, impacts the effectiveness of own work team through quality and timeliness of services or information provided

• Ability to work with vendor companies and other teams in resolving invoice and payment issues.

• Recognizes and solves typical problems by evaluating and selecting solutions from clearly defined options. May also make judgments based on the analysis of information.

Qualifications/Requirements

Key Accountabilities

• Requires secondary education and training on the job or even some formal qualification.
• Alternatively, required specific functional knowledge and skills can be obtained through substantial job experience, whether through training on the job or some formal qualification.
• 1-2 years’ Procurement Buyer experience and knowledge, preferably from Shared Service Center. Fresh graduates are also welcome to apply
• Understanding of the relevant range of the Purchasing or Procurement processes, procedures and systems
• Adept technical understanding relevant to the job/tasks and has knowledge of underlying concepts and principles of Procurement and Supply Chain upon which the job is based.
• Able to provide appropriate technical and inquiry support to internal customers or end users
• A background and experience working with SAP, Ariba and other ERP systems as a Buyers are highly preferable
