Job Description

  • A Physiotherapist, also known as a Physical Therapist, is a healthcare professional who diagnoses, assesses, and treats patients with physical problems due to illness, injury, or disability, aiming to improve their mobility, function, and overall quality of life. They use a variety of techniques, including exercises, massage, and equipment, to help patients regain their independence and activity. 
  • Evaluating patients' physical conditions, movement limitations, and pain levels to determine the appropriate treatment plan. 
  • Developing individualized treatment plans based on the patient's needs and goals, utilizing exercises, massage, manual therapy, and other modalities. 
  • Providing hands-on therapy, such as manual therapy, exercises, and equipment guidance, to help patients improve their range of motion, strength, and function. 
  • Educating patients and their families about their condition, treatment plan, and home exercise programs to promote recovery and prevent further injury.
  • Treatment plan that includes exercises to improve strength and range of motion, massage to relieve pain, and manual therapy to address joint restrictions. 

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field like biology, physics, or health sciences is typically required as a foundation. Following this, a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program, which is a professional doctorate, is the standard path to becoming a qualified physiotherapist. This DPT program usually involves a combination of classroom learning and supervised clinical practice. 
  • Must be license as a Registered Physical Therapist (RPT)
