Responsible for phlebotomy functions: proper patient’s identification, test requests verification, proper collection,
correct labelling, handling and transporting of specimen to the laboratory processing area; maintaining superior
performance with strict compliance to the safety procedures and quality standards of the company

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Verifies patient’s information (complete name, birthday, gender) and corrects right away in the system
  • Assess patient’s test request to ensure that there are no discrepancies, missing or duplicates in the test order.
  • Verifies patient’s diet restrictions
  • Records and enters the necessary information/ data in the Program
  • Reassures patients if they are nervous or distressed.
  • Clearly explains the procedure to patient.
