  • A pharmacist's job description involves ensuring safe and effective medication use. This includes reviewing prescriptions, dispensing medications, counseling patients, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals. They are also responsible for maintaining accurate records, managing inventory, and adhering to relevant regulations
  • Evaluating prescriptions for accuracy, safety, and appropriateness, including checking for drug interactions. 
  • Providing information to patients about their medications, including dosages, side effects, and potential interactions. 
  • Keeping accurate records of prescriptions, inventory, and other relevant information
  • Tracking patient medication use to identify and address potential problems or issues. 
  • Working with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient care. 

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree, pass the Philippine Pharmacists Licensure Examination (PPLE), and obtain a license from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC). Additionally, competencies in direct patient care, pharmacotherapy knowledge, systems-based care, communication, professionalism, and critical thinking are also expected. 
  • Pharmacists are expected to participate in continuing education and professional development to stay current with the latest advancements in the field.
