II. JOB OBJECTIVE/SUMMARY
This position acts as the technical expert and consultant of the store. The Pharmacist checks and inspects drugstore operations and dispensing practices to ensure compliance with all BFAD regulations.
III. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Checks all drugstore operations and practices to ensure that it complies with all BFAD requirements.
2. Communicates with BFAD officials during store visits and acts as intermediary between the store and the agency for requirements and concerns.
3. Guides and trains store personnel in reading prescriptions. Counterchecks and records prescription in the prescription book. Files prescription for at least two (2) years.
4. Trains/educates store personnel on product knowledge and on the following;
a. Observance of proper dispensing protocol
b. Patient assessment
c. Dosage regimen
d. Basic reminder on side effects
5. Checks and updates License to Operate (LTO), business permit, and other documents related to drugstore operation.
6. Keeps updated books such as USP, RPS, MIMS, PIMS, Toxicology and others. Search required information in the internet for patient counseling.
7. Records and validate senior citizen, Person with Disability (PWD) transactions.
8. Monitors and analyzes movement of stocks and places orders accordingly;
• Availability of fast-moving products
• Slow moving, foreign items and new items
• Must carry stocks or items
• Recommend bioequivalent drugs for out of stocks items when needed
9. Ensures that all stocks are well kept, displayed and highly secured against theft and pilferage. Monitors First Expiry First Out (FEFO).
10. Ensures that all team members accomplish their stocks inventory on a daily basis.
11. Ensures cleanliness of the following;
Compounding Area and materials
Lavatory and Quarantine Area
12. Spearheads housekeeping standards to ensure cleanliness, orderliness of
Medicines, safety and maintenance of the store and ensures proper therapeutic
arrangement of medicines.
13. Performs all other functions assigned from time to time.
