Job Description

SUMMARY: Senior leadership role with overall responsibility for all processes and administrative functions needed to support shipyard operations: lead, guide, direct, and evaluate the work of subordinate managers and supervisors; ensure compliance with all Safety, Quality, Company, and Regulatory directives; direct activities in areas of safety and personnel, production, scheduling, material handling, and quality.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Guide, direct, coordination and execution of all programs and projects.
• Guide and direct management of customer relations including liaise/interface with senior government and/or commercial representatives on matters and issues.
• Support pursuit of future business opportunities that are available with existing business as well as emerging business in the area of ship repair.
• Oversee contract compliance and direct resolution of contract interpretation engaging customers in matters.
• Confer with the President and other administrative personnel to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions.
• Oversee production, contracting, planning, purchasing, safety, quality assurance to review production and operating reports and resolve service, operational, manufacturing and facility problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays and to meet future growth.
• Oversee key projects, processes and performance reports, data, and analysis.
• Provide effective leadership and direct staff in completion of assigned work with guidance and support of president/general manager.
• Review operations and plans to meet requirements for planning and execution of ship repair availabilities.
• Ensure safe operations and compliance with applicable regulations and company policy.

Qualifications/Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline or equivalent experience.
• 15 years of progressive experience with 10 years of military marine program/project management and/or repair experience.
• Experience with US federal acquisition and life cycle support programs for the US Navy.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of government agencies, consultants, and clients.
• Knowledge of contracting methods and contract types.
• Must possess a high level of understanding of technical and engineering issues as related to Naval and commercial ship repair.
• Demonstrated competency in management of diverse staff across variety of functions
