DRILLING FLUIDS SPECIALIST

  • Fluids System Management: Design, monitor, and optimize the drilling fluid systems for offshore deepwater operations, ensuring they meet operational requirements.
  • Fluid Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor and assess the performance of drilling fluids, ensuring the system functions effectively under various downhole conditions.
  • Material Selection: Select and recommend appropriate drilling fluid materials and additives based on well-specific requirements, cost-efficiency, and performance expectations.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues related to drilling fluids, including wellbore instability, lost circulation, and other operational challenges.
  • Quality Control: Conduct regular quality checks and laboratory tests on drilling fluids to ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Certificate of completion in fluid systems engineering.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills in English or British English both written and verbal, to effectively document and report findings to onshore management teams.
  • Drilling Fluids Expertise: Strong knowledge of drilling fluids properties, types, and additives, including their performance in deepwater and high-pressure/high-temperature (HPHT) environments.
  • Practical understanding of wellbore stability, lost circulation, and other key challenges in deepwater drilling.
  • In-depth knowledge of the safe and efficient use of fluid systems, including monitoring and adjusting fluid parameters during operations.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced offshore environment while maintaining a strong focus on safety and operational excellence.
  • Familiarity with advanced drilling fluid technologies, including environmentally friendly fluids and innovations in fluid recycling systems.
