* Evaluates management of referred patients with physical
or mental disability either for home visit, placement or
transfer.
* Administers appropriate treatments to patients using
applied techniques such as group OT activities to improve
joint range of motion (ROM), muscle strength, endurance,
and coordination.
* Trains patients in the functional use of corrective or
replacement devices such as an upper extremity prosthesis.
* Trains the patient in home management skills and other
simpler methods of self-care activities such as dressing,
eating, bathing and personal hygiene to compensate for
physical and/or perceptual deficits.
* Recommends post-treatment conditions such as making
functioning of equipment.modifications to create a barrier
free environment and consulting with a vocational
counselor for employment changes.
* Evaluates and transfers the care of regressed patients to
nursing affiliates and monitors their condition.
* Monitors the upkeep and sufficiency of supplies and
equipment.
* Performs other related functions as maybe asssigned.
