Position Title: MOLD TOOLING MANAGER
JOB SUMMARY
The Mold Tooling Manager is responsible for overseeing the design, development, maintenance, and optimization of mold tooling used in the manufacturing process. This role requires the ability to read and write Chinese, as the manager will collaborate with Chinese-speaking suppliers and vendors. The manager ensures that all tooling meets quality standards, production requirements, and cost-efficiency goals while leading a team of tooling engineers and technicians and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Tooling Development & Maintenance
• Oversee the design, fabrication, and implementation of new molds, ensuring they meet production and quality specifications.
• Manage mold maintenance, repairs, and modifications to ensure continuous and efficient production.
• Ensure tooling performance aligns with production targets and minimizes downtime.
• Approve and review technical drawings and mold designs to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Project Management
• Lead mold tooling projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
• Collaborate with design, engineering, and production teams to optimize tooling solutions.
• Monitor project timelines, budgets, and milestones, reporting progress to senior management.
3. Quality Assurance & Compliance
• Ensure all molds meet quality standards and customer specifications.
• Conduct regular inspections and audits of tooling performance.
• Implement corrective actions for tooling defects or inefficiencies.
• Maintain compliance with safety regulations, ISO standards, and company policies.
4. Team Leadership & Collaboration
• Manage and mentor a team of tooling engineers, designers, and technicians.
• Assign tasks, set performance goals, and provide regular feedback.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
• Collaborate with procurement teams for tooling-related purchases.
5. Continuous Improvement
• Identify opportunities for improving mold performance and longevity.
• Implement cost-saving initiatives and efficiency improvements.
• Stay updated on the latest mold tooling technologies and industry trends.
