Job Summary:
As Senior Manager (Merchandising), you will be responsible for the formulation of merchandising strategies and attainment of sales/margin goals of the department at the least inventory.
Key Accountabilities
1. Merchandise Planning
• Analyze consumer buying patterns and predicting future trends.
• Review performance indicators (e.g. sales margin and inventory).
• Write reports and forecasting sales levels on a weekly and monthly basis.
• Audits merchandise implementation in the stores
• Keep abreast with merchandise trends and new product lines in the market to maintain leadership in the industry
• Make assortment decisions at times of transition and new merchandise additions
2. Inventory Management
• Project order quantity based on sales plans
• Ensures quality/adequate quantity of merchandise and timely delivery of stocks
• Manage inventory and timely take actions to prevent aging
• Propose price mark down and clearance activity to phase out old merchandise
3. Vendor Management
• Maintain strong business relationships with existing vendors
• Source and develop new vendor
• Direct the internal and external launch of new vendor and products
• Communicate vendor programs and policies to Merchandising, Accounting, Marketing and Sales
4. Team and People Management
• Provide direction to Category Merchandise Manager on how to achieve KPI
• Create the necessary action plans and/or personal development plans of subordinates to maximize job performance and growth.
