Performs routine medical and special laboratory examinations and procedures
Performs laboratory examinations for blood and other body fluids.
Extracts blood from the patient/applicant
Records laboratory test results in the appropriate laboratory logbook.
Prepares laboratory test reports
Consults the Pathologist / Head of Laboratory for some confirmatory examination
Prepares specimens to be stored or transported to the reference laboratory
Submits monthly report to the Department of Health on the laboratory test conducted
Operates, calibrates and conducts performance check on clinical laboratory equipment
Ensures that all assay equipment are calibrated and in good working condition
Reports to Medical Director medical equipment failure
Implements medical testing equipment maintenance activities
Advises clinicians and other health care providers on proper methods of collection of specimen
Maintains cleanliness of the unit
Maintain a log of supplies used in the laboratory and keeps area stocked with supplies
Makes periodic inventory of reagents, noting the expiry date
Prepares requisition for reagent and supplies needed in the laboratory
Answers inquiries from clients/agencies
