Area of Assignment: NTRL, ALabang
Duties and Responsibilities:
A. Grant Management & Project Administration
1. Coordinates and leads the active participation and involvement of laboratory end-users and stakeholders at the regions to ensure complete and sustained implementation of NTP strategies/activities regardless of funding source (Global Fund and/or GOP related)
2. Serves as technical support Staff or technical back-up to the day to day TB laboratory operations such as adherence to quality assurance and biosafety standards set by NTRL, adoption of new diagnostics, implementation of latest PMDT strategies, organizes work areas to ensure safe and hazard free environment, etc.
3. Provides regular feedback/reports to NTRL as early warnings, where applicable, on the status of Laboratory & PMDT Program implementation at all levels at the regions
4. In close coordination with the laboratory supervisor, conducts regular inventory of laboratory supplies, chemicals, reagents and laboratory equipment and submits request for action to NTRL (supplies specification verification pending procurement and equipment/facility maintenance) and BIHC-PGMU (funding support, processing for payment)
B. Technical Assistance
1. Assists the regional laboratory supervisor and key technical partners in performing quality TB diagnostics tests in accordance with the program protocol
2. Drafts/writes technical documents/materials necessary to identify researchable areas in laboratory operations in close coordination with the regional laboratory coordinator and NTRL, if necessary
3. Recommends to improve timely fulfillment of deliveries, or catch-up strategies, approaches, as well as steps to successfully achieve NTP & Global Fund plans and targets concerning specific areas assigned.
4. Performs other tasks that may be assigned from time to time by the immediate supervisor and/or management
