Job Description

MEDICAL OFFICER IV

1. Examine and diagnose patients seen in the Mental Health Unit (MHU) under the supervision of MHU consultant or Unit Head.

2. Prescribe, direct, or refer patients for psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat mental, emotional or behavioral disorders under the supervision of MHU consultant or Unit Head.

3. Collaborate with MHU psychologist, psychiatrist, psychiatric nurse, or other hospital professionals for further evaluation and management and co-management of MHU patients.

4. Supervises Medical Officer III and initiates prescribed corrective measures as indicated.

5. Supervise and assists Medical Officer III in creating evaluation reports for patients of MHU.

6. Accomplishes MHU forms and reports.

7. Attends regular hospital and staff meetings on behalf of MHU as assigned by Unit Head.

8. Performs other related functions as may be assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Doctor of Medicine
Training: Four (4) hours of relevant training
Experience: One (1) year of relevant experience
Eligibility: RA 1080 (Physician)
OFFICE: To be detailed at Mental Health Unit
