DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Inspects live animals before slaughter to ensure they are healthy and free from diseases that could impact meat safety.
• Checks for signs of abnormal behavior, injuries, or conditions that might affect the meat product (e.g., infections, parasites).
• Oversee slaughter procedures to ensure compliance with safety protocols and humane treatment of animals.
• Monitor equipment and cleanliness of processing areas to prevent contamination.
• Ensure that hygiene standards are strictly followed throughout the slaughter and meat processing stages.
• Examine animal carcasses and internal organs for signs of disease, infection, or contamination.
• Inspect meat for abnormalities such as tumors, abscesses, or spoilage.
• Ensure that all required tests and inspections are conducted in compliance with health regulations.
• Ensure that all slaughterhouse practices meet government and industry standards for food safety, animal welfare, and sanitation.
• Record all necessary data, including batch numbers, inspection results, and test outcomes.
