Key Responsibilities:
1. Construction and Installation:
• Lay bricks, concrete blocks, tiles, and stones according to blueprints or specifications.
• Build or repair walls, partitions, fireplaces, chimneys, and other masonry structures.
• Shape and cut materials to fit specific dimensions using tools and machines.
2. Material Preparation and Handling:
• Mix mortar or grout and spread it as needed.
• Select appropriate materials for specific projects, ensuring quality and consistency.
• Transport and position materials to designated areas on the job site.
3. Repair and Maintenance:
• Restore damaged structures by replacing defective bricks, stones, or mortar.
• Apply weatherproofing and protective layers to masonry surfaces.
• Ensure proper sealing of structures to prevent water or weather damage.
4. Blueprint Reading and Measurement:
• Interpret drawings, sketches, or blueprints to determine work layout and material requirements.
• Measure and align structures to meet specified dimensions and levels.
5. Safety and Compliance:
• Follow safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Secure work areas to prevent hazards and ensure compliance with building codes.
