Job Summary:
The Mason is responsible for building, repairing, and maintaining structures made of brick, concrete blocks, stone, and other materials. The role includes interpreting blueprints, laying out structures, mixing and applying mortar, and ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Lay bricks, concrete blocks, stones, and other masonry materials to construct or repair walls, partitions, arches, and other structures.
Mix mortar or grout and spread it using trowels.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and construction plans.
Measure and mark layout lines for installations using levels, plumb bobs, and measuring tools.
Cut and shape materials to fit using hand or power tools.
Apply waterproofing and protective coatings when required.
Ensure work complies with building codes and safety regulations.
Operate scaffolding and other construction equipment safely.
Repair existing masonry structures, including replacing damaged bricks and sealing cracks.
Clean tools, work area, and equipment after tasks are completed.
Collaborate with other construction workers and site supervisors to meet deadlines.
