What are the Roles and Responsibilities?
The Maintenance Supervisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of mechanical equipment within the sugar manufacturing plant. Responsible for supervising a team of maintenance technicians, the Maintenance Supervisor oversees all mechanical maintenance activities, including preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance. With a focus on equipment reliability and uptime, the Supervisor develops and implements maintenance strategies, troubleshoots mechanical issues, and manages spare parts inventory. Supervising compliance with safety regulations and industry standards, the Supervisor fosters a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the maintenance department.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Supervise Mechanical Maintenance Operations: Provide leadership and supervision to the mechanical maintenance team responsible for the upkeep of all mechanical equipment in the sugar manufacturing plant.
2. Develop Maintenance Strategies: Develop and supervise the implementation of comprehensive maintenance strategies for mechanical equipment, including preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs.
3. Ensure Equipment Reliability: Supervise efforts to ensure the reliability and availability of critical mechanical equipment through effective maintenance planning and execution.
4. Troubleshoot Mechanical Issues: Lead troubleshooting efforts for mechanical failures and breakdowns, utilizing root cause analysis techniques to identify underlying issues and supervising corrective actions.
5. Manage Spare Parts Inventory: Supervise the management of spare parts inventory for mechanical equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels to support maintenance activities while minimizing costs.
6. Ensure Compliance and Safety: Supervise compliance with relevant safety regulations and industry standards in all mechanical maintenance activities. Conduct regular safety inspections and promote a culture of safety awareness among maintenance staff.
7. Provide Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance and supervision to the maintenance team, supervising the resolution of complex mechanical issues and providing training as needed.
8. Coordinate with Other Departments: Collaborate with production, planning and engineering, and other maintenance teams to supervise maintenance activities, optimize equipment performance, and minimize downtime.
9. Document Maintenance Activities: Supervise the maintenance of accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment history, and maintenance logs. Supervise the generation of reports and analysis of data to track equipment performance and identify areas for improvement.
10. Continuous Improvement: Supervise or participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the reliability, efficiency, and performance of mechanical equipment. Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction.
