Job Description

Responsibilities:

Warehouse Management: Oversee daily operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storing, and shipping products. Ensure efficient organization and layout of the warehouse to optimize space and workflow.

Logistics Coordination: Coordinate logistics activities, including transportation, distribution, and delivery of goods. Work with carriers and third-party logistics providers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.

Inventory Control: Manage inventory levels to ensure accuracy and availability. Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies. Implement inventory control procedures and systems.

Team Supervision: Supervise and train warehouse and logistics staff. Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to company policies and safety standards.

Order Processing: Oversee order fulfillment processes, including picking, packing, and shipping. Ensure orders are processed accurately and delivered on time.

Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards. Implement and enforce safety procedures and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.

Equipment Management: Oversee the maintenance and operation of warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyor systems. Ensure equipment is properly maintained and repaired as needed.

Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance warehouse and logistics efficiency. Evaluate workflows and recommend changes to optimize operations.

Reporting: Prepare and maintain reports on warehouse and logistics performance, including inventory levels, order accuracy, and shipping metrics. Provide insights and recommendations to management.

Customer Service: Address and resolve customer inquiries and issues related to shipping and delivery. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through effective communication and problem-solving.

Cost Management: Monitor and control warehouse and logistics expenses. Implement cost-saving measures and optimize resource utilization.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: Previous experience in warehouse and logistics management, with a proven track record in supervising staff and managing operations. Experience in a distribution company or similar industry is advantageous.
  • Skills: Strong organizational and leadership skills, proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and logistics software, and excellent communication abilities. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, logistics processes, and safety regulations. Familiarity with transportation and distribution practices.

The Warehouse & Logistics Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring the efficient and effective management of warehouse and logistics operations, contributing to the overall success of the distribution company.
