A Construction Helper, also known as a Construction Laborer, assists skilled tradespeople on construction sites by performing tasks like cleaning, preparing the site, loading/unloading materials, and operating basic tools, while adhering to safety protocols.
Responsibilities:
Site Preparation and Cleanup:
Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris and potential hazards.
Clear pathways and ensure safe working conditions.
Material Handling:
Load and unload building materials and equipment.
Assist with the storage and organization of materials.
Basic Construction Tasks:
Dig trenches, backfill holes, and compact earth to prepare for construction.
Build or dismantle bracing, scaffolding, and temporary structures.
Tool and Equipment Assistance:
Operate power tools and hand tools, such as jackhammers, saws, and drills, under supervision.
Assist trades workers with the setup and operation of equipment.
Following Safety Protocols:
Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
General Support:
Assist construction craftworkers, such as electricians and carpenters, with various tasks.
Carry tools and materials to the work area.
Help set up equipment.
