Job Description

  • Install, calibrate, and maintain a variety of geotechnical instruments, including inclinometers, piezometers, extensometers, settlement gauges, and other sensors.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of installed instruments, identifying and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Collect data from installed instruments using appropriate data loggers and software.
  • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of collected data through proper calibration and quality control procedures.
  • Prepare clear and concise field reports documenting installation details, maintenance activities, and data collection procedures.
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation problems and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of instrument locations, calibration data, and maintenance activities.
  • Assist in the preparation of instrument installation plans and drawings.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in a related field (e.g., instrumentation technology, electronics) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in installing and maintaining geotechnical instruments.
  • Strong understanding of geotechnical instrumentation principles and techniques.
    Experience with a variety of geotechnical instruments (e.g., inclinometers, piezometers, extensometers).
    Proficiency in using data loggers and data acquisition software.
    Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
    Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
