Position Title: Consultant – Narrative Design and Storytelling for Games

(School of Management and Information Technology – Game Design and Development Program)


Core Responsibilities:

  • Advise the Game Design and Development Program on narrative curriculum strategy, incorporating AI-enhanced storytelling methods and global best practices.
  • Deliver lectures and masterclasses on storytelling techniques for games, including branching narratives, interactive writing, and character development.
  • Develop educational modules and toolkits that explore emerging technologies in narrative design, such as AI co-writing tools, procedural dialogue systems, and adaptive narratives.
  • Guide faculty development on the impacts and uses of AI in game storytelling and narrative production.

Qualifications/Requirements

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10 years of international professional experience in narrative design or interactive storytelling, preferably with award-winning work in games, film, or television.
  • Proven track record in curriculum development for tertiary-level game design or interactive media programs.
  • Demonstrated experience in mentoring students and faculty in story development, transmedia narratives, and interactive content creation.
  • Strong global network in the creative industries, with collaboration across international studios, game development companies, or major productions.
  • Recognition through prestigious industry awards (e.g., BAFTA, Emmy, etc.) is a significant advantage.
  • Familiarity with the integration of AI tools into storytelling workflows is strongly preferred.
