1. Consults with radiation oncologists on the physical and radiological aspects of patient’s treatment.
2. Provides diagnostic imaging physics training for radiology residents.
3. Supervises administrative personnel of the department
4. Develops and maintains quality assurance and radiation protection programs for all treatment modalities.
5. Gives performance specifications, acceptance testing, commissioning of new equipment, calibration and maintenance of equipment.
6. Conducts lectures on radiation protection and related topics to hospital personnel.
7. Undertakes radiation protection survey and evaluation of the facility.
8. Monitors occupational exposure of the staff.
9. Develops policies for the use of radiation emitting devices.
10. Participates in conferences/seminars/meetings as part of continuing education program.
11. Interacts with medical physics community to receive and disseminate state-of-the-art information.
12. Performs other duties as may be assigned.
