JOB SUMMARY
Use digital illustration, photo editing software, video editor, and layout software to create visual elements such as logos, original images, and illustrations to help deliver a message.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
- Design, illustrate, and prepare printing layouts for various printed and online marketing materials.
- Design, illustrate, and prepare advertising layouts, billboards, posters, exhibits, flyers, letterheads, logos, certificates, forms, and other promotional materials
- Create electronically designed page layouts and import word processing files into space layouts; may develop web-based graphics
- Use digital illustration, photo editing software, and layout software to create designs
- Create visual elements such as logos, original images, and illustrations to help deliver a message
- Design layouts, including the selection of colors, images, and typefaces
- Present design concepts to the requesting department
- Performs photography, photo processing, and video editing as required
- Prepares printing specifications for the print shop; obtains bids and recommends contract awards; maintains contact with vendors to ensure adherence to time schedules and specifications.
- Coordinates on proofs typesetting and printing for adherence to specifications; determines if quality standards have been met
- Maintain department inventory by ordering or requisitioning graphic art supplies and equipment according to department procedures
- Prepares cost estimates for departments requesting outsourced graphic art services; maintains accurate records of work in progress for billing and departmental records
- May use a variety of desktop publishing, graphic design, web development/management, and animation tools.
- May assist in the design and implementation of internal and external web pages and applications
- Perform other duties as assigned
