OBJECTIVE:
The Forwarding Supervisor oversees overall forwarding activities (Air/Sea/Land) on
a daily basis. Provides quality and efficient customer service internal and external
clients through the daily supervision of Domestic Forwarding client’s requirements,
which includes but not limited to hiring and training needs recommendation, solving
issues and challenges of the Domestic Forwarding section. In addition, supervises
freight operations process and freight team performs efficiently and effectively to
meet customer commitments. Also, the position requires him or her to assist the
assistant manager and the department manager in developing, analyzing and
implementing programs and projects.
KEY FUNCTIONS:
Plans and ensures there’s enough manpower to process daily booking, pick-up,
checking and monitoring of domestic freight forwarding requirements of the clients.
Leads the pricing or costing activities to existing and prospect clients and initiate
approval from department manager.
Researches rates, routings, or mode of transport and maintains awareness of
regulation affecting domestic movement of cargo.
Ensures that all shipments of forwarding section comply with the Carrier / Service
Provider Agreements or Contracts including rates and commitments.
Collaborates with Carriers / Subcons to get the preferred space allocation and rate
that will yield positive income for the company.
Ensures Forwarding Coordinators monitors all outgoing and incoming shipments
following the agreed KPI and standards agreed with the client.
Communicates with Customers on issues related to Forwarding Services and
addresses them properly and timely.
Ensures that Forwarding Team follows the company policies and standards.
Attend to customer (internal & external) inquiries and provide best possible
solutions or options that will mutually benefit the company as well as the client.
Ensures checkers have proper turn-over/hand over of shipments and report
immediately any discrepancies to avoid claims and exposures.
Complete freight related documentation including delivery and billing documents
accurately and timely.
Ensures transactions are billed to customers on time and validates carrier/subcon
billings accuracy.
Ensures handling of cash/fund within the section follows the prescribed rules and
regulation set by the company.
Establish and enforces safety rules and regulation across freight team.
Developing and enforcing operational policies and procedures to optimize
efficiency and productivity.
Managing team members to ensure tasks are completed in a timely and effective
manner.
Trains and develop the Freight Operations team to adopt to new learnings and to
evolve with constant changes in the freight industry.
Providing regular operational reports and updates to senior management.
Performs tasks that maybe be assigned from time to time
Ensures to meet the Key Result Areas (KRAs) and Key Performance Indicators
(KPIs).
