Job Description

Position title: TECHNICAL ADVISER, ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS

Job Description:

• Establish and build an electrical engineering team, capable of supporting large Renewable Energy projects across all phases.

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop projects’ technical specifications, execution plans, methods, scope, cost estimations, tender support, etc.

• Conduct concept and feasibility studies and technical assessments for potential project designs.

• Participate in the selection and evaluation of vendors and contractors for related electrical engineering works.

• Preparation and maintenance of standardized Owner’s Requirements, documentation and Technical Specifications for projects,

• Support development teams through the development phase activities, early stage works, scope definition and project definition,

• Manage and oversee the technical aspects of Electrical Engineering during project development, including engineering design, procurement support, and project execution as well as transition to O&M teams.

• Monitor and troubleshoot technical issues arising during project development and execution.

• Design reviews and acceptance of contractor’s (or third parties’) designs and technical submissions.

• Interface management of all Scope, Stakeholders, Teams and Works execution planning across projects.

• Accountable that controls processes are developed and implemented at the projects sites to ensure Quality of project delivery is maintained.

• Assist in championing a reliability engineering and condition-based maintenance approach, focusing on preemptive actions to maintain and enhance construction and operational integrity.

• Drive the alignment of engineering practices with company-wide technical standards, ensuring consistency and excellence across all components and subsets.

• Cultivate and maintain an extensive engineering knowledge base for each technology within the organization, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

• Proactively identify and address potential issues relevant to line of expertise.

• Co-develop and approve comprehensive written procedures, method statements, and work instructions, ensuring all tasks comply with project development and execution Safety Rules.

• Provide expert technical input into all cost/benefit analyses, guiding decision-making processes with data-driven insights.

• Provide leadership and subject matter expertise to the Project teams across the key stages of the project lifecycle and transitioning of skills to the engineering team, building capability;

• Develop and implement comprehensive plans to optimize future asset performance, reliability, and profitability, achieving established operational and financial objectives.

• Serve as the critical link between the engineering team and project development team, translating complex engineering concepts into actionable insights and practices.


Qualifications/Requirements

• Holds a degree with specialization in power systems design, development, operation and with extensive work experience in renewable energy projects. 

• More than 15 years of hands-on experience in vast and technologically complex electrical systems and large renewable energy projects across all phases 

• Global experience and proven track record in developing projects’ technical specifications, execution plans, methods, scope, cost estimates, tender support, quality control of complex and multidisciplinary projects 

• Comprehensive understanding and advanced technical proficiency in international power standards and regulations and their application to renewable projects

• Proven experience in successfully executing electrical projects, with a focus on compliance with international standards
